RACHEL LAURA BIRCH

Inspired by the Worth Global Style Network forecasted trend ‘Considered Comfort’ for Autumn Winter 20/21, Komorebi seeks to provide healthy spaces that create a feeling of comfort and calmness within our home environment. Komorebi is a Japanese word that translates as ‘the sunlight filtering between the trees’ which serves as a metaphor for this collection.

Rachel researched this collection by visually examining intriguing stems and foliage found in Kew Gardens and species such as Noble Dendrobium, Palm Lillies, Brazialan Plume and Travellers’ Palm.  Through the use of natural greens and tropical motifs Rachel created the Komorebi collection to enable a sophisticated take on the tropical trend to induce a restorative and calm ambience, complimented by natural linens, silk and cotton.

Consisting of wallpapers and fabrics, this collection offers a wide variety of print from trailing stems, textural compositions and bold placements to evoke soft tactility within the home.
