REBECCA WILDE

‘Quality of Light within a Landscape’ is a collection of capsule samples and gallery-led pieces which highlight the beauty and versatility of both natural and artificial light, inspired by travels to New York.

‘Light is one of the most universal and all pervasive elements in our world’ (Gardner, 2001).

Rebecca captured elements of light within the fabric materials using a range of techniques, drawing and painting from primary research then forwarding to processes relevant to display light, for example, cyanotype, printing on reflective UV fabrics, embellishing different weights of material together then stitching on top using reflective threads.

The collection is split up into two parts, one photographing urban building reflections from windows and gaps of natural light passing through, the other part focusing on artificial light, capturing the movement of light and how it creates life and bright colours.
